Flowing Mullett...

| Wearing | Skirt - Top Shop | Top - Aritzia | Pumps - Steve Madden | Neckllaces - HRH Collection and Stella & Dot | Pearls - ASOS | Rings - Jewelmint |

I have been featuring a lot of mullet-esque clothing styles on my blog this year.  No mullet is a good mullet, but this short in the front and long in the black flowy material is gorgeous, unique and oh so chic.  It’s 2012 and we’re excited to be wearing a skirt that really does do business and party all in one.  Really it’s hard to say which side is about the business and which is ready to party! On one hand you have a lovely maxi-looking silhouette from behind, but up front you have an open curtain framing your legs. It’s really all so beautiful and truly can transition from business chic to casual sweet in an instant.

I paired my skirt with a pretty pastel lace top and sky high Mary Jane pumps. This is a timeless recreation of an Audrey-like inspiration that will brighten any gloomy day. I finished the look off with my go-to jewelry pick – pearls.  Something about strands of pearls can make any outfit look classic and polished. There are endless possibilities for this style of skirt.  It can be dressed up or down and layered for colder days.  With such a versatile piece, you will be sure to get a lot of wear out of it.

Crisp and White

| Wearing | Blouse - Winners | Jeans - Material Girl | Boots - Steve Madden | Rings - Jewelmint, Lia Sophia and Stella & Dot | Neckalce - Stella & Dot | Nail Polish - Essie |

Good news for women who love the classic, crisp white dress shirt – they are everywhere this season and have no accents and finishing details.  A white shirt is one of the most affordable and convenient garments that keeps you covered for a job interview, school interview, office work, and even leisure time and date nights. Many associate white shirts with strict dress codes and boring fashion attire, but they're so much more than that! They're very versatile - and compliment classic clothing personalities perfectly. Whether you're an office working gal or someone who prefers to dress casually, white dress shirts are a must in your wardrobe. In fact, they're considered a wardrobe essential because they keep you covered on those inevitable days where you have to look extra polished

I am head over heels for this off-white silk blouse that I picked up from Winners this fall.  It goes with absolutely everything, it’s easy to wear and as comfortable as your best silk jammies.  What sets it apart - the stud finishing on the cuffs and collar.  I paired this blouse with jeans, trousers, shorts and my latest muse – patterned pants!  It’s a great staple to have for the woman who wears many hats and is constantly being pulled in this direction and that!

RAIN on my Parade...

| Wearing Material Girl sweater | Dex tights | Steve Madden boots | Stella & Dot and Jewelmint necklaces | Jewelmint rings | Umbrella unknown |

Boyfriends, watch your closets!! Over-sized sweaters are taking the female fashion world by storm.  Is it just me or does everyone else want to live in their comfy knits for the entire winter?? When the opportunity comes along to flaunt your favorite cozy staples as a trend… well, take it and run with it… or dance in the rain with your favorite umbrella like I have done!

It’s easy to get completely lost in this comfortable state of mind.  So, it’s important to find chic ways to wear over-sized garments without looking like a potato sack.  The trick is to always juxtapose the heavy knits and bulky shapes with sleep and slim bottoms like those perfect skinny jeans or tights.  Once you’ve mastered the silhouette, elevate your look with pretty shoes or boots and costume jewellery.  This way, you will be ready to show your comfortably chic style in public without feeling you are in your pajamas or boyfriends’ sweats.

On the Fly...

| Wearing Aritzia shorts | Suzy Shier bouse | Calvin Klein boots | Calvin Klein tights | Michael Kors watch | Stella & Dot pendant neckalce | Stella & Dot and Lia Sopihia bracelets | Jewelmint rings |

Life is busy. Period.  It seems like sometimes I am literally running from one job or activity to the next.  I have certain wardobe staples for a reason - they are easy, look great, have amazing versatility and are, most importantly, comfortable.  Stripes, riding boots and trouser shorts - I know, shocking! But us women like what we like.  I can't get enough of my striped tops and blouses.  The pattern is so chic and fun to pair with everything.  This super affordable blouse is by far one of my favorites.

Riding boots - enough said.  They are so polished and classic but soooo comfortable.  I can wear them all day, walk around downtown or shop until I drop and my feet still  feel great at the end of the day.

I can't seem to get away from my shorts.  Because it's fall I can extend my wear and usage by paring them with tights or go for the oxford prepster look and try booties and knee socks.  Ode to the shorts... I could sing their praises all day long.

Until next time...

1 Dress Style 2 Ways - Day 2

| Wearing H&M dress | Aldo pumps | Amrita Singh necklace | Silpada and Stella & Dot rings |

Look 2:

This style is perfect for date night or a chic and stylish wedding.  Although these wedges are sky high, they are a total statement piece and so easy to walk around in or twirl on the dance floor.  This necklace is also a illustrative piece on its own, so once paired with the shoes and dress, this is a sure way to stand out and raise some eyebrows.  The dress, even though different, is simple enough to pair with flashy pieces.  This look shows just enough skin to add a little sexiness without being completely over the top or un-classy.  The length is perfect and the neckline keeps the bust covered and leaves just enough to the imagination.

Be daring this holiday season and stand out with a statement dress and heels.

1 Dress Styled 2 Ways - Day 1

| Wearing H&M dress | Steve Madden Boots | Oia Jules Necklace | Stella & Dot and Silpada rings |

When it comes to the LBD, I like to choose a party dress that's truly a cut above the rest, literally. I love this H&M dress with unique side cutout designs; it really adds an unexpected element to the silhouette of the garment.

I decided to keep it classy with my cut out choice.  It shows just a sliver of skin without revealing too much.  Most I have seen are relatively conservative with quirky little cutouts just above the hips. No matter how you “slice” it, this modernist look is a must-have this season.

I decided to take this dress and style it up for two completely different looks.

Look 1:

I paired my dress with a statement Oia Jules collection necklace and Steve Madden boots for a night out on the town with girls.  The boots are comfortable enough to dance in all night and walk around from lounge to lounge.  The buckles on the boots and the chunky silver chain links from the necklace almost make this outfit look biker chic or moto inspired.  The best part about this little black dress is that it can be styled, accessorized or paired with almost any type of shoe, overcoat or accessory.

Check out my blog tomorrow for Look 2…
