SHEER-ly Excellent

| Wearing Forever 21 blouse | Hudson jeans | Elizabeth Brady pumps | H&M and ASOS bracelets | Silpada rings |

The ever-surfacing trend this season is without a doubt the sheer blouse!  Whether with prints, bold colors, neons or differing lengths in the front and back, they are everywhere. Summer’s standout pieces have one common feature: SHEERNESS.   As you may have noticed… I am kind of obsessed with these blouses.  I especially love this nude colored tank blouse purchased from Forever 21 in Vegas (my mom rocks!!).  A blouse like this has a beautiful and classic look, how could this style last forever.  It goes with everything, is super comfortable and can be dressed up or down with the right pant, short or skirt.

This casual, yet polished, style gives an outfit elegance and sophistication to an otherwise semi-transparent blouse.  It’s definitely THE must have of the season, and the best thing about this trend? It’s not overly ‘trendy’ and will last for seasons to come. Wear yours smart to work with a blazer and skirt, or at the weekends with jeans and boots. Experiment with different colours and keep the rest of your outfit simple.

I (heart) Purple Leopards

| Wearing Material Girl jeans | ASOS blouse | ASOS shoes | Forever 21 bracelets | Silpada rings | Revlon "Wine with Everything" lipstick |

This trend has been going on for quite some time, but knowing what cut of jeans to choose or how to wear a colored pant can be extremely confusing – well it was for me at first. Skinny jeans that are slightly cropped look great in sherbet or neon colors. The bold hue on a more tapered pant works because the eye won’t feel overwhelmed by the amount of material. However, dress pants in a bright color paired with a white oxford shirt and nude heels can be just as aesthetically appealing.  I’ve rocked both looks, but I prefer colored or printed denim.  All of the cuts I have are skinny jeans – it’s just less distracting and easy to pair with great neutral shoes.

It’s no secret that all trends are not created equal. Not all of us can pull off a cropped top or short shorts, but most women can wear a colored pant. Knowing which styles are right for you will be the key to successful shopping. Try on everything, but buy only what you love.  If you are worried about white or peach, try red or blue (hides more) and I find the thicker the denim the better the look. Trends come and go, but true fashion is created by you and lasts forever.

Flower power

| Wearing H & M blouse | American Eagle shorts | ASOS wedges | Silpada rings | Fifth Avenue Jewelers

I am seriously loving the summer styles this year - cropped tops, cut-off shorts, sheer blouses and colored denim are overflowing on the sidewalks.  These trends are completely wearable for daytime looks and can be dressed up for night with some lipstick, bold jewels and sky high heels.  Cut offs are ever-present during the warmer months, and for good reason, they are amazing. Whether paired with fancy floral blouses or preppy striped tops, these classic shorts are a go-to for in my summer wardrobe.

There are so many different styles and colors - Ripped, studded, torn, bleached, dyed, neon colored, and brightly patterned - it seems you don't have to scroll very far on instagram to see a multitude of denim and stud clad bums.  If you are like me, an instagram freak, you will gain many great outfit and style ideas of how to rock your short denims.

These are shorts with higher hemlines on the outside of your legs making the hemline of the short look angled. I’ve found these to be hard to style, especially when going somewhere such as a nicer restaurant or even a concert. The hemline is not ideal for most body types, and does not flatter women with bigger legs, like myself. Cut-offs look better if they fit your form. If you’re looking to try out this trend, I recommend pairing these shorts with a plain button down, basic t-shirt, blouse or even combat boots for a fiercer look.  I always gyspy myself out with copious amounts of rings, bracelets and statement necklaces, and of course, a pair of heels or a wedges.

Patterned Madness

Patterend Blouses

I love using bold, graphic patterns and what better way to sport them than on a blouse! We are continuing to see a resurgence of classic patterns such as chevron (think Charlie Brown), bold stripes, paisley/damask, polka dots and florals. Many of these, however, are being reinterpreted in fresh bright colors and being used in an over scale manner. Hey, the bigger the better right.

A fun way to bring some pattern into your wardrobe is to look for something that has some of those fun trendy colors, and believe me, you are going to see a ton of options! One thing to keep in mind with prints is to be sure that the weight of the print is in line with your stature. You want people to see you, not your printed top!  I generally pair mine with neutral bottoms – either shorts or jeans.  Have fun with prints and stand out by being polished and chic.

Lacey Love

| Wearing ASOS blouse | Abercrombie & Fitch shorts | Steve Madden pumps | House of Harlow sunglasses | Michael Kors Watch | Stella & Dot and OhmyheartKate bracelets | Lia Sophia and Jewelmint rings |

I am absolutely loving lace shorts right now. They are definitely on my list of top trends for spring and summer and I can’t seem to get enough of them. I’m a huge fan of shorts in general, but I love the fact that they are so versatile and can be worn for both formal and casual occasions.

I've always thought that lace will never go out of style. There's so much you can do with it, really and it’s just such a glamorous approach on boring every-day shorts.  I paired my navy short lace knickers with a cobalt blue sheer blouse, lots of arm candy and sky high heels.  I glammed it up a notch with my outrageous House of Harlow shades

Lace shorts might possibly be my favorite summer garment this year!  My only tip when wearing crochet or lace shorts is to be careful with what you pair them with…SOMETIMES, depending on the garment, the white ones especially, tend to look a bit like pajamas or loungers.  So make sure to pair them with something tailored and shoes other than flip flops so it doesn’t look as if you´ve just rolled out of bed!
