The Edgy Boot

 | Wearing Aritzia skirt | H & M top (similar style) | Nine West Booties (similar style) | Nixon watch | ASOS bracelet | Calvin Klein tights |

I love the casual minimalist style of this outfit. Its so simple and comfortable and can be worn to the office during the day or for a glass of wine in the evening. Stripes are my absolute favorite and my new obsession seems to be pairing them with a pop of color.

This rich color, which some refer to as maroon or burgundy, is definitely not a lasting favorite of mine.  However, when characterized as a “Vintage Wine” and after being seen on many a fall runway, it jumped on to my style radar. Whatever you call that deep, dark, red color it’s pretty tasty!   Its popping up subtly in shades of makeup and lip tones and making bold appearances in dresses and skirts. This is one of my favorite styles of skirts from Aritzia and I own it in three different shades… when you love something, buy it in multiples. When a fashion brand makes a piece in several colors, there are a handful of standards that tend to get made. These include neutrals like black, white, and grey; so its nice to see the new classics like deep red and mustard yellow.

Rock out in this season's must-have biker booties. With bold zippers, distressed leather and chunky heels, these women's boots are perfect for giving the edge to any outfit.  When it comes to boots, the style is forever changing. We have seen ankle boots take the fashion world by storm, but this spring it is all about motorcycle boots. You can pair these booties with just about anything to really look good.

When it comes to motorcycle boots, nothing is really off limits. Whether you want to keep your look casual with a tee, trendy with a skirt or rugged with a plaid shirt and ripped jeans, you will be able to rock this look! These boots are unbelievably comfortable… who knew something so tough could be so chic and versatile.  KEEPING IT CASUAL: The easiest way to wear these boots is to pair them with a casual outfit.. Wear a pair with chains and buckles with some dark skinny jeans, a long tee and a long knit cardigan. This look is clean, classic and very chic. It is a simple way to really look hot without looking like you are trying too hard. You can also skip on the cardigan and work in a blazer into the mix to keep your look polished. TRENDING IT UP: To add a little funk to your look, pair these boots with a high waist skirt, blouse and a cardigan with tights. This style is funky and cute and has just the right amount of contrast to really look good. You will love the way that this outfit makes you feel really girly, but with a bad girl edge. Instead of wearing a skirt you could try a simple dress with tights and girly jewelery.  This look is fun and cool, and the fact that you are able to wear two totally different looks together is really great. The dress can be simple and you do not have to wear a lot of accessories. All you need is the two very contrasting elements: a dress with hardcore boots.

Hello Mr. Kors

| Wearing Michael Kors vest | J Brand jeans | ASOS blouse | Steve Madden pumps (similar style) | H & M ring | Bulova Vintage watch | Revlon "really red" lipstick |

I have always had a strong dislike for anything fake, but I am absolutely smitten with the glamorous trend of faux fur.  From stoles, to jackets, and vests, the modern take on Old Hollywood allure is mesmerizing to me. This Michael Kors vest is the current love of my life: luxurious to wear and soft to the touch.  This risqué fashion move isn’t for the faint at heart; it takes a true stylista to pull of this eye-catching trend with ease.  My original inspiration was the fabulous Rachel Zoe, who accessorizes everything from maxi’s to dress shirts with some sort of faux fur. If your style is a little more introvert, I suggest easing into the trend with a cozy accessory like a fur scarf that will still, very easily, put you on the style map.

I was elated to say goodbye to plunging necklines and hello to the ultra conservative pussy bow blouse that took the world by storm this year. The overly exaggerated bow is fun, flashy, and ultimately classy. I am head-over-heels in love with this trend in blouses.  They are ever so stylish and can easily be worn with jeans, work pants, or even skirts.  These blouses add that feminine feel that I really love and classify myself by.  While the bow blouse is one of the hottest trends for fall 2011, it is in fact a very old style that has been reborn. The bow blouse is technically called the “pussy” bow blouse, which originates from cats in children’s books. The aristocracy, who generally had many house cats as pets, tied fancy ribbons around the pussys’ necks, similar to the ribboned bows the women wore on their blouses.  Everything old seems to become a new trend in this day and age

Sartorial Splendor

 | Wearing H & M blazer | Alfred by Aritzia dress shirt | Guess jeans | Aldo OTK boots | Stella and Dot necklace | Revlon "Really Red" lipstick |

Boyfriend blazers are so major this season, but they are more than just a one trick puppy. They are super versatile and look as good running afternoon errands as they do over dinner and drinks. I kept it chic, classic and comfortable with this outfit.  All the basics – a great blazer, a striped dress shirt, chic skinny jeans and over the knee boots.  With that as a foundation you can pretty much go and be seen anywhere. Perfect outfit for any kind of professional setting. Versatility – a great word for this fabulous jacket. Can be worn in so many different ways and this trend will for sure carry on from season to season.

I love the unisex appeal and paired this heather gray blazer with my favorite pair of over-the-knee boots.

The trends in boots this year are hotter than ever.  Over the Knee styles are EVERYWHERE.  I seem to be powerless when it comes to the unstoppable push of footwear and the need to buy buy buy.  I am obsessed with shoes and have fallen hard for this latest footwear fad.  Its so easy to slip them on over skinny jeans rather than tucking and pulling material into ankle boots or skinny mid calfers… because lets face it, and I can especially concur to this, we don’t all have skinny little calves.  An eternally stylish riding boot is a great option for flat footwear that is still aggressively chic and stylish. They make other cold-weather footwear look passé and outdated.  Not everyone is willing to wear Sorels in the heart of the winter freeze.  The Over the Knee boot obviously makes a bold style statement, so it’s a safe bet to pair them with more modest pieces.  Try with a meek frock, skinnies or tights to keep it fresh and classy.
