TWELFTH Day of Christmas.... For the Love of the City

 | Wearing Marciano by Guess cocktail dress | salt water pearls | Aldo pumps | Silpada ring |

This is my absolute favorite article of clothing that I own and I feel like a million dollars when I wear it. Like most girls, I am a huge fan of SJP as Carrie Bradshaw. In Sex And The City: The Movie, the first scene started off on a high note with Carrie Bradshaw strutting the streets of New York wearing a white vintage dress with a over-sized flower perched on the shoulder…. So it was love at first site when I spotted this similar style while shopping in Las Vegas.

This dress is so many things wrapped up into one… cute, flirty, sexy, poufy and fun! The sweetheart neck draws a little attention to the breast and the large flower, which is the focal point of the whole dress.  The waste is an empire design which majorly accentuates the puffiness to the skirt.  It has a much shorter hemline but its not your typical short, tight sexy dress.

A black or white cocktail dress works perfectly for holiday parties because it never goes out of style. Use classic makeup that highlights your natural beauty like mascara or a liquid eyeliner and some glossy lips with a hint color. Don’t forget to wear some power heels and a special purse. You shouldn’t wear too much jewelry because a dress like this is meant to shine on its own.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you enjoyed my 12 dresses of Christmas.

ELEVENTH Day of Christmas...Back Showcase

 | Wearing ASOS dress | Aldo pumps | ASOS, H & M, and Ado jewelry | Stella & Dot rings |

Bringing sexy back….literally. If you are like me  and are not big on cleavage, you’ll be pleased to know that backless dresses are taking the fashion world by storm.  Backless dresses are becoming more and more prominent as a trend both on the street and the red carpet. Why the back? It’s sexy and suggestive, yet much more subtle and mysterious than an open chest dress. If going backless, keep the front covered to keep the mystery… but don’t be afraid to rock a little side boob, that’s my signature trick to add a little sexiness.

You can strike a unique balance between showing off a lot of skin, while keeping things classy. The most important thing to pulling off this trend is to have an even, radiant back complexion.  You don’t want to wear too much jewelery as to take away from the sexiness of the body and wear a plain colored, more neutral style heel to keep the look balanced. I kept my hair straight and wore classic, minimal amounts of makeup to keep it fresh and balanced.  It’s also important to note that when you are going backless, you don’t want to length of the dress to be too short.  The best part about this dress is the busy pattern on the front, disguising the fact that I am not wearing a bra.  This look is fun, yet super sexy.

TENTH Day of Christmas...Dainty Detailing

| Wearing Le Chateau dress (old) | Steve Madden pumps... That's it! |

A royal flair has entered the party scene this season and includes lady like lengths, dainty detailing and lush, royal hues. Dress lengths that are just above the knee are extremely classy and sophisticated and reveal a super feminine edge in style.  Ruching is amazing…  it’s extremely flattering, yet edgy and fun and it’s everywhere this season … If you haven’t jumped on the ruching bandwagon yet, now’s the time to get on board. The extra pounds you packed on this winter will thank you, until you’re ready to show off your bangin’ summer bod after the holidays.

I just love the color detailing on this particular dress.  A little color goes a long way, but how about lots of standout colors to make your outfit pop?  Vintage blue is rich and full and goes well with any skin tone, body type (because its forgiving) and hair color.  I wear A LOT of black and have recently opened up my wardrobe to a lot of royal, rich colors and am loving every new shade I buy.   For a little something extra,   brooches are a fun way to add a glamorous touch of “fancy” to your dress and draw attention to certain parts of the body.

NINTH Day of Christmas...Channelling Your Inner Diva

 | Wearing Marciano Dress | Elizabeth Brady pumps | ASOS faux fur coat (old) | ASOS jewelry |

Breaking news “If you have curves, show them off!!” The bandage dress is a figure hugging, curve inducing, eye-catching, statement-making, form-fitting dress. It's often detailed in strategical designs that show off all the sexy curves of a woman's body with the formation of the fabric.  I have never felt sexier then when I wear this hot pink bandage dress by Marciano.

If you want to be remembered as one of the hottest people at the holiday parties this season, you should break some rules and try something BOLD and new. Choose a sizzling hot dress in pink or red and be a total diva! Choose an amazing heel, as high as you can handle, to complete this ultra fitted look.  I made a bold choice and  matched the color of my shoes to the dress and it worked perfectly.  It won’t always work but when the dress is a one colored, no pattern item, it can look quite lovely and put together in the finished product.  I channeled my inner Hollywood diva and finished off this outfit with a faux fur short jacket for a little extra glam.

EIGHTH Day of Christmas...For the Love of Sparkle

 | Wearing Le Chateau dress (old) | Calvin Klein slip | Aldo pumps | Aldo clutch | Nixon Watch | Silpada ring |

As the days get shorter and the nights colder, we inevitably seem attracted to everything that is warm, shimmery and bright.  Well, that’s how I am anyways… like a crow.  The holiday time of year means party and celebration season, so why not add bit (or A LOT) of glimmer to your holiday look? As you’ll see in every fashion magazine, event show, and boutique window display, sequins have been twinkling all over this fall and add a seriously edgy touch to even the sweetest dresses and skirts.

One of the smartest ways to look good at a party is to shine, literally.  Sequins are really hot this winter and you should make the most of them. Go for blue, red, gold or silver to cheer the holidays. Still, be careful not to look like a Christmas decoration with too much glitz and glam in the jewelry and shoe department. I absolutely love cobalt blue and the larger sequins on this dress make it stand out just a little bit more.  It is very short, but not fitted and that makes it extremely comfortable to wear.  And I thought they said looking good wasn’t comfortable? Focus on minimal accessories and hair and you will be good to go, shining like the bright star that you are, so..... SHINE ON.
